Uganda REDD+ Strategy – Second Edition (June 2021)

This National REDD+ Strategy is a living document and incorporates the lessons from the ongoing global, national and sub-national REDD+ processes. The implementation of this National REDD+ Strategy and Action Plan is supported by a number of frameworks that have been developed including: i) Feedback Grievance and Redress Mechanism (FGRM); ii) Benefit
Sharing Arrangements (BSA); iii) Strategic Environmental and Social Assessment (SESA) and the Environmental and Social Management Framework (ESMF); iv) National Forest Monitoring System; v) Forest Reference Emission levels (FREL) (updated June 2018); vi) Safeguards Information System; vii) Indigenous People Planning Framework; and, viii) Resettlement Policy Framework for REDD+. Uganda commits to comply with these frameworks and apply a Safeguards Information System for Uganda REDD+ as an integral component of the REDD+ strategy
